Rosemary Maye is probably better known as her Facebook persona, the Insomniac Gardener. In this talk she will show how she manages to have colour in every season.

Rosemary says: “Seventeen years ago we were enticed to the countryside to Mullaghdillon House, a romantic old house, with centuries-old trees and borrowed views that include the historic ruins of Slane on the hill opposite but no colour. I love colour and immediately set about planting.

Join me on a year’s journey in my garden.”

Using your computer, tablet or smartphone, you should be able to ‘join’ the meeting using the link which will be emailed to those members who have registered their wish to attend.

More details of how to use Zoom are given below.

If you haven’t used Zoom before, then these instructions should explain all you need:

Getting Started with Zoom

Step 1: Download Zoom onto your computer , tablet or or smartphone by visiting this page: https://zoom.us/download  and clicking ‘download’ under ‘Zoom client for meetings’. Do this well ahead of the lecture in case of problems.

Step 2: You should see the ‘Zoom installer’ download onto your computer. Click on this and click ‘open’ (or ‘run’ depending on which system you have).

Step 3: You may see a pop up box which asks whether you want to allow Zoom to make changes to the hard drive on your computer. If so, click ‘yes’.

Step 4: Zoom will now install – you will likely see a progress bar. When it reaches 100% the process is complete. Zoom is now installed and you will be able to access meetings held via Zoom by clicking the link sent to you by the host at the scheduled time. (You do not need to create an account to join Zoom meetings.)

Yes! There’s a whole website devoted to helping us oldies use computers!

When you click the link you have received, you will be sent to a Waiting Room, and when we are ready to start the host will admit you and we’ll get underway. I advise you to click on the link a few minutes ahead of the lecture to give you time to sort out any problems before the meeting.
