Mount Congreve House and Gardens is situated in Kilmeaden Co. Waterford and was home to six generations of Congreves. The house was built in 1760 by the renowned architect, John Roberts. Mount Congreve was left in trust to the State by the late Ambrose Congreve, a keen garden enthusiast and plant hunter.

The highlight of the visit will be the wonderful displays of the Magnolia collection in flower including Magnolia ‘Ambrose Congreve’ and the soft pink flowers of Magnolia ‘Lady Irene Congreve’, not forgetting the explosion of colour during early spring from the rhododendron collection regarded as the largest collection in Europe that includes up to 3500 cultivars. Other noted species to watch for are the 650 named camellias and 350 named cultivars of Japanese maple.

Admission: Senior €8.50 – Adult €9.50
Tea/Coffee and scones on arrival at an additional cost of €8.50 per person with lunch also available upon request.
