Moneynabane, the garden of Desmond Dunwoody, is a rural garden on the edge of the Mourne A.O.N.B., has been developed in the past 25 years. An effective use of terracing and winding paths enables visitors to comfortably access a diverse collection of trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants guaranteed to catch the eye. Relaxed in style, beds, some ringed with box and local stone, are amply filled with fragrant lilies, roses, hemerocallis, clematis and more. An attractive pond with marginal plants, water lilies and large adjacent boulders is unpretentious, giving a sense of belonging. On a higher level there is a wildflower area with views of Slieve Croob to the South.
