Teagasc & Fleuroselect Marigold Trial Demonstration
Dónall Flanagan has very kindly extended an invitation to IGPS members to join him to view the marigold trial beds in Ashtown on Thursday, 30th August. The event is free but you are requested to register your intention to attend via Eventbrite

‘Fleuroselect, the international organisation for the Ornamental Plants industry, has designated 2018 as the “Year of the Marigold”. Demonstration trials of a wide range of varieties are taking place in no less than 4 other locations in Europe. Teagasc are supporting the programme for the first time and will open the demonstration trial on two dates during August, 2nd and 30th.
It is an opportunity to see in excess of 60 innovative varieties, not widely available to the public. All plants are growing outdoors in standard conditions and demonstrate the plants performance in “garden conditions”. The collection included French, African and hybrid marigolds. They have performed extremely well in the hot dry summer.
Visitors can vote on their favourite varieties on the day and will receive information on all varieties in the wider trial and those being grown in Ashtown.’
