Enniscorthy Road
Coolaught, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford
Ireland
Come before 11 where you can enjoy tea and scones before exploring the garden at Coolaught. This 2.5 acre garden was planted and developed by the Deacon family for generations. Paths lead to the front garden with its laburnum archway with climbing clematis and rose pergola. An Egyptian garden leads to an orchard with many fine and rare trees. A fine garden centre is attached where you can purchase some of those plants you admired in the garden and many more besides.
From Coolaught we will travel to Ballylane, New Ross to Hill View House and Gardens. Directions to both gardens will be given to attendees prior to the event.
Hill View is an old country garden with mature trees and shrubs. Here we will enjoy a delicious lunch and tour of the garden with owner Margaret. There is a certain wildness about Hillview! Verbenas and echiums self seed! There is a big pond, orchard and herbaceous area including lots of dahlias! Climbers rhododendrons and hydrangeas complete the picture! The garden is accessible to all mainly with grassy paths.
A perfect day for gardening enthusiasts: two contrasting gardens with lunch and plants to buy.
Please note: Booking opens on 16th May. This event is limited to 40 places.
