John Mitchell has worked at Edinburgh Royal Botanic Gardens for 30 years and his current role is Alpine supervisor.
Join us for this interesting talk as John will bring us on a wonderful tour of Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan and introduce us to the fabulously rare and beautiful plants of these parts of the world. He has spent a great deal of time in these areas training students in the Hindu Kush, exploring the Wakhan corridor and the valleys near Dushanbe while seeking out rare plants.
This afternoon lecture is organised by the Alpine Garden Society (Ulster Group) and, by their kind invitation there is free admission to IGPS members. Refreshments will be provided.
