Walled Garden at Russborrough House
Blessington Co Wicklow. W91W284
We will meet at 11.00am in the Walled Garden which is a short walk from the house. The 18th century walled garden is 3.5acres in size and has been partially restored by RHSI Volunteers. Plants thrive in the sheltered microclimate created by brick-lined walls.
Approx 50% is in productive use with herbaceous borders, roses and an extensive selection of fruits and vegetables. There is an area of wildflower meadow and annuals in a sunny corner. Some say the most beautiful garden in Ireland but they may be biased – judge for yourself!
There should be plants, propagated from the garden, for sale and also vegetables and jams.
A tour of the House can be booked Privately at 10.00am.
The Café will be open for snacks and/or lunch if you wish.
Just 20 minutes away you will find…
June Blake’s Garden, Tinode, Kilbride, Co Wicklow. W91EC90.
We will aim to arrive at 2pm for a guided tour of this three-acre contemporary garden. There should be fabulous late summer colour in the garden which surrounds the old Stewards House and recently restored, award winning farm buildings.
June has put her artistic senses to good use with imaginative colour and texture combinations. Dense planting of herbaceous and bulbous plants are ‘rested’ by swathes of green and a long pool of calm water.
It helps that her understanding of her plants is extensive! Many might try to copy but their results would never be so spectacular!
Lots of lovely plants for sale!
